Coach Ho Chi Minh City - Siem Reap

To go from Vietnam to the temples of Angkor in Cambodia (in the city of Siem Reap), we can go by bus from Ho Chi Minh City. The price of the ticket for round-trip is 18€ approximately (Ho Chi Minh City - Siem Reap).
There are several companies that offer bus service, with which we will have to choose which best fits our needs. The best is to go to any travel agency in the District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City (near the Crazy Buffalo coffee).

The route of the bus going from Vietnam to Cambodia is:
  • Central bus station in Ho Chi Minh City
  • Border crossing Moc Bai
  • Step in Ferry by Neak Loeung
  • Phnom Penh, the Cambodian capital
  • Siem Reap bus station

The bus leaves from the bus station in Ho Chi Minh City (in District 1) and from there we continue up to the border with Cambodia in Moc Bai (Tây Ninh province). Note: this border crossing closes at night, with what a night bus will have to cross by another point, making the total duration of the trip a couple of hours.

Once we crossed the border, with passport in hand together with the Visa for Cambodia We are riding on the same bus to the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh. But before you get a surprise: Highway crosses the river by the town of Neak Loeung, although instead of having a bridge, the bus will get inside a Ferry (with us inside, won't us leave). This is the point where it crosses the River: Neak Loeung.

The city of Phnom Penh is tourist and has typical architecture buildings Thai, although not as interesting as the Temples of Angkor.

Our bus will stop at the bus station in Phnom Penh (not you alarmed upon arrival, are unpaved and in poor condition), where we have to change buses.
This should go to the counter and ask for a new ticket (included in the price of 2$0) for the bus that will take us to our final destination, Siem Reap.

We will mount on the new bus leaving Phnom Penh and with an eye on the Siem Reap tourism. Once we get to our destination, Siem Reap bus station, the best thing is to take a Tuk-tuk to the hotel, the bus station is located on the outskirts of the city (3 km) and is literally in the middle of nowhere.

I recommend using the same Tuk- Tuk the next day to move you around the temples of Angkor, as the price will be cheaper for both paths.
The Tuk - tuk price is negotiated directly with the driver of the Tuk - Tuk, depends on the number of days and temples to visit, a great price for a day visiting all the temples are 2$0.
