Imperial Tomb of Emperor Thieu Tri in Hue (Vietnam)
The imperial tomb of Thieu Tri is located very close to the Imperial Tomb of Tu Duc, about 8 kilometers south of the city of Hue, along the Perfume River. Emperor Thieu Tri could not build his own tomb, and who died suddenly due to illness, so this task bequeathing to his son, Emperor Tu Duc, who built the Imperial Tomb Thieu Tri fathers following the recommendations to be economic in costs.

Emperor Thieu Tri (Thiệu Trị) is characterized as a person who did not wish that their servants, soldiers, or helpers devoted much time to his person, in therefore his tomb reflects, by expressed desire of the Emperor Thieu Tri, the attitude showed in life the Emperor, i.e. a grave economic costs and austere.
His son, Emperor Tu Duc (buried nearby, see Imperial Tomb Tu Duc) sigio fathers recommendations and built an economic imperial Tomb in time and costs. Indeed, they were only needed 10 months to build the Imperial Tomb Thieu Tri.
This quiet and little tourist imperial monument, was recognized as a World Heritage site in 1993. The pavements of the Imperial Thieu Tri Tomb, certainly deteriorated, are being restored.
Structure and composition of the Imperial Tomb Thieu Tri
Tomb of Emperor Thieu Tri has many similarities to the grave of his father, Tomb of Emperor Minh Mang, Both as to its structure and composition. These similarities are evident especially in the bronze door and the stone bridge that crosses the lake.

Thieu Tri Imperial Tomb, like the Imperial Tomb Tu Duc, it can be divided into 2 parts:
- The area of the tomb
- The area of the temples
Area Thieu Tri's tomb
On the right bank of Lake Nhuan Trach have the bronze door that opens the way to the courtyard of ceremonies. To the side of the courtyard, two rows of stone statues (the canons set by the Tomb of Emperor Minh Mang) After the courtyard, the pavilion and the tower wake Duc Hinh, on a mound shaped tortoise shell. After these monuments is the tomb of Thieu Tri.
The lake is crossed by three bridges :
- Trung Chanh, in the middle of the lake
- Dong Hoa, on the right
- Dinh Tay, left, is the bridge that leads to the grave

The area of the temples
The temples that are part of the Imperial Tomb Thieu Tri was built a few hundred yards from the grave. The highlight is the temple Bieu Duc, where I conducted the funeral obituaries successor Tu Duc and his wife. Getting to the Imperial TombWe may Thieu Tri's tomb drive (recommended) or browsing the Perfume River by boat (where we will moor at the pier Than Ben and walk a couple of miles).
