The popular belief is that Wat if Muang has the power of condecer desires. There are 3 times up a pillow and at the same time formulate a wish, if the wish is granted such person has returned to the temple to make an offering. Statue of King Sisavangvong


Immediately after the temple Wat Si Muang, there is a small public park where stands the statue of King Sisavangvong, King who reigned in the year 1904 until 1959. The statue has a raised hand and with the other holds a book that supposedly is the first legal code of Laos.

The statue has no plate some, since they say evil tongues, it was torn in 1975 when Laos rose against the monarchy.

How to get to the temple Wat Si Muang


The temple Wat Si Muang is located in the eastern part of the city of Vientiane ( Laos) on the way to the Friendship Bridge. Although the official address is Rue Thadeua Street (a couple of kilometers from the That Dam stupa and just 2 blocks from the COPE Visitor Center) to navigate is better to use the intersection of the streets Setthathilath and Samsenthai.

To get to Wat if Muang most advisable is to walk, another way to move is to rent a bike for 10,000 kip per day (€1) or take a tuk-tuk for 20,000 kip (€2).
